“I think it is important to let young women know that you can be your best at any age,” Suzanne said. Suzanne is a volunteer mentor at In My Shoes, a program in which adults who spent their childhood in foster programs, serve as role models for teens currently in foster care. If Suzanne is selected to be a Gadagirl she would like to donate her $300 to In My Shoes, to help enhance the program and to make sure that the transitions for teens is as simple as possible. “Eat, drink and be Merry!” is the motto that Suzanne lives by.

“I want to be an example that anything is possible in this world,” said Florencia Turco of her desire to become a Gadagirl. As one of the founders of the E.L.L.A. Group, a non-profit organization that teaches self defense and empowerment to women and children, Florencia is a strong supporter of personal empowerment. If selected as a Gadagirl, Florencia would like to donate her $300 to Las Familias, an organization that facilitates the healing process of children and adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. Florencia lives by a quote from the artist Picasso “Everything you can imagine is real.”

“I want to show people that being beautiful inside really does count” said Audrey, explaining why she wants become a Gadagirl. Despite being in high school, Audrey still finds the time to give back to her community. She is a member of the Key Club, a community service organization; has participated in Red Cross blood drives; fundraising activities for the Ronald McDonald House as well as Locks of Love. If she wins, Audrey would like to donate $300 to Casa De Los Ninos. “Be true to yourself” is the philosophy that Audrey lives by.
